Jaipur was one of the former cities, which was planned in the country. The iconic elements of the city includes monuments, adventure activities and food. When it comes to covering Jaipur, a couple of days would be enough. With three days, you can perfectly cover Jaipur.
Day One
Since it is your first day, you would be active and fresh. Thus, make sure to as much as attractions as possible. Start with main attractions of the land like Hawa Mahal, City Palace, Jantar Mantar and other attractions close by. Most of the monuments are open from 9 in the morning. Start as early as possible to avoid peak crowd. Once you are done with these, settle down for lunch and a few hours of rest.
By evening, visit any local bazaar for shopping. The most recommended one is Johri bazaar for buying textile, jewelry, quilts and others. If not, choose Bapu bazaar for Jaipur handicrafts, leather items, textiles, home décor items.
After shopping, visit Jal Mahal to spend the night and have a grand dinner in the restaurant inside Jal Mahal. If you are looking for affordable meals, you can find many restaurants closer to the monument. Retreat to your hotel.
Day Two
Start your day as early as possible and visit Amer Fort. Take an elephant ride to the fort and get back in a jeep. Being early is quite important here. Only limited number of elephant rides is allowed per day and you need to be ahead of the crowd to enjoy it. It would take a couple of hours to explore Amer Fort. After Amer Fort, choose to visit Jaigarh Fort, which is very close to Amer Fort. Later, visit Nahargarh Fort. Each fort would take a couple of hours for exploration. There is a restaurant inside Amer Fort and Nahargarh Fort for lunch.
After a few hours of rest, explore some of the local temples of Jaipur. Visit small shops to try the local cuisine of the land. If you are into shopping, there are numerous other shopping markets to explore. This is the best time to enjoy the local delicacies of the land. Find food vendors in the market to taste the local cuisine.
If you are not into shopping, visit Choki Dhani to enjoy local games, traditional activities, local cuisine, music and dance performances, puppet shows, camel safari, horse chariot ride and so on. You can spend the entire evening here along with a royal dinner before retreating to your hotel room.
Day Three
Take a small road trip from Jaipur to visit Bhangarh Fort, the haunted fort of the region. It would take a little less than two hours to reach this fort. You can enjoy lunch in any of the restaurants closer to the fort region.
You can return to Jaipur by evening. Set out to explore other temples and monuments in this region. Make sure to visit Birla Mandir before sunset. If you have any last minute shopping ideas, hit the market before it is too late.
Before you plan your itinerary to Jaipur, make sure to learn the best time to visit each monument. For instant, it is best to visit the Monkey temple by late afternoon to spot many monkeys. You need to be in Amer Fort before 11:30 am to enjoy elephant ride and much more. Thus, surf about each destination before you allocate specific time to it in your itinerary.
